1Corinthans 15:1-4 The apostle Paul tells us what the GOSPEL is: moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel, which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Gospel means "Good News" Your debt has been paid, the death penalty for sin has been paid by Jesus, you are free. That's the good news!

​

The bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that there is no one righteous...and that the wages of sin is death (spiritual death, eternal separation from God for eternity) So we must acknowledge we are a sinner and have sinned against a righteous God. There must be a change of heart. Repentance, which means to turn back and come home to God stop living independent from Him in sin and unbelief. (Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23) We are born sinners in a fallen world. We don't just commit sins but we are born with a sin nature that must be reborn spiritually and reconciled back to God.

Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death, but THE GIFT OF GOD is eternal life in Christ Jesus our lord. The bad news is that the wages of man's sin is death, our sin means that we have been given a death sentence, that's the bad news. The GOOD NEWS is that God made a way for us to get out of this death sentence. Jesus paid the penalty for mans sin on the cross.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast. There's nothing any person could do to save himself from death (eternal separation from God, spiritual death).

So what you can do is BELIEVE in your heart what God did. Believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 10:9-10 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

So now you have a decision to make: Confess Jesus Christ to be saved. The most famous verse is John 3:16 says For GOD SO LOVED the world (YOU) that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Today is the day of salvation! Romans 10:13 says whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

​

A prayer for salvation might go something like this:

God, I am a sinner, I am sorry for my sin and for living my life separate from you. I want to turn from my sin and have a relationship with you. I believe Jesus is your son, I believe that he died on the cross for my sin and that he was buried and you raised Him back to life. I have decided to place my faith in Jesus Christ as my savior, trusting only in His shed blood as sufficient to save my soul and take me to heaven when I die. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. Amen.

If your prayed this prayer and were sincere you have just been born again. In John Chapter 6 Jesus told Nicodemus that unless a man be born again he cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says if any man be in Christ he is a new creation. Behold old things have passed away and all things have become brand new. You are a new creature, a child of God. Oh happy day! Heaven celebrates over you today!
